5 Super Bowl Dips to go With Your Snacks

We have arrived at the moment football fans look forward to every year. It’s Super Bowl 2017! Patriots vs Falcons for the glory of the NFL.

With the Super Bowl comes Super Bowl parties, and with those parties come Super Bowl party food. And what better party food than dip? There are so many dips that can be used with chips or vegetables or pitas that it may be hard for you to pick some out.

We thought we would help you out with that by assembling an all-star team of Super Bowl dips that are sure to be a rousing success at your party.

Smoky Chipotle Hummus Dip

Ingredients: 2 (15.5 ounces) cans garbanzo beans, drained, 1/4 cup tahini, 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1/2 cup water, 1 canned chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin, 1 (7 ounces) jar roasted red bell , eppers, drained, 6 oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes, drained, 2 cloves garlic, 1/2 cup chopped cilantro, 1/2 teaspoon salt
ground black pepper to taste.

Instructions:

Toss the tahini, garbanzo beans, garlic, water, lemon juice, olive oil, chipotle pepper, and cumin in the bowl of a food processor; blend until smooth. Add the red peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, cilantro, salt, and pepper. Pulse the concoction until it arrives at the consistency that you desire. Serve chilled.

Zesty Green Goddess Dip

Ingredients: 2 cups trimmed watercress, 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, 1/3 cup canola mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon anchovy paste, 1/4 cup fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves, 1/4 cup chopped green onions, 1/4 cup plain fat-free Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper, 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt.

Instructions:

Throw all ingredients into a mixer and pulse until it’s at desired thickness. Place mixer contents into a bowl that you can cover and chill overnight before serving.

Warm Caramelized Onion Dip

Ingredients: 2 teaspoons olive oil, 4 cups chopped onion, 3/4 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco), 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 cup light sour cream, 1/3 cup (1 1/2 ounces) grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, 1/3 cup (3 ounces) 1/3-less-fat cream cheese, 1/3 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise.

Instructions:

Heat oil over medium-high heat in a large nonstick skillet. Swirl to coat pan. Add chopped onion and thyme to the pan and sauté until golden brown. Reduce heat to low, and cook until onions are deep golden brown, stirring occasionally (about 20 minutes).

Remove onion mixture from heat. Add sour cream and the rest of the ingredients, stirring until blended and cheese melts.

Avocado and Feta Dip

Ingredients: 1 avocado – diced and peeled, 4 ounces feta cheese, 1 large handful of parsley, 1 lemon – juiced, 2 or 3 scallions – roughly chopped, black pepper to taste.

Instructions

Add all ingredients to food processor. Pulse food processor until desired consistency. Serve with raw veggies for a healthy alternative to chips.

Garlicky White Bean Dip

Ingredients: 1 or 2 peeled garlic cloves, 2 cans (15 oz. each) white beans, drained and rinsed, 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil, 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, 1 tablespoon very finely chopped fresh oregano leaves, 1/2 teaspoon finely shredded lemon zest, Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Instructions:

Pulse garlic in food processor until finely chopped. Scrape down the inside of the bowl and add beans, oil, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Chop until smooth and blended.
