Victoria’s Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio took to Instagram this past Monday to show off her amazing bikini body. The model rocks a tiny two-piece in the post and flaunts her incredibly fit body, captioning the shot “#MondayMood.”

Alessandra Ambrosio’s Fitness
Ambrosio grew up in Brazil with a family that never put much focus on fitness or working out, revealing that her move to Los Angeles came with quite the culture shock when she realized that nearly everyone worked out as part of their daily routines. Since then, the model has worked to incorporate exercise into her everyday living, favoring Pilates and yoga as it makes her feel “long and lean,” according to Elle magazine. The mother of two has even made it a family activity, as seen in this Instagram post featuring her post-workout with her son.
However, when preparing to take the runway or strike a pose for an important photo shoot, Ambrosio’s routine becomes more intense. When she first started out, she was determined to get a better butt and keep her legs and thighs thin, leading her to turn to Brazilian fitness guru Leandro Carvalho. Carvalho created what he now calls the “Brazilian Butt Lift” program for Ambrosio, a workout that has other models seeking out the famed trainer. This intensive program focuses on the three major muscle groups in your rear – the gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and gluteus minimus, and allows you to build and shape your butt while keeping your thighs slim and toned. Exercises include elastic band work, floor exercises with ankle weights, as well as Capoeria (a Brazilian fighting style that incorporates dance and music, making it great for cardio as well!). She now trains for shows with Justin Gelband, the official trainer for Victoria’s Secret and creator of ModelFit studio. He stresses the importance of stretching and warming up before beginning any workout to prevent injury. Exercises included are long lunges, small sits, and a crunch and thigh lift combo.
Alessandra Ambrosio’s Diet
While Ambrosio now exercises daily, her diet is not what you’d expect of a supermodel. She loves food and does not deprive herself of her favorites, enjoying items such as eggs, English muffins, fruit and coffee for breakfast. Her lunch is often something quick, picked up while she is driving son Noah to his music class. Dinners are often eaten out, and Ambrosio reveals a love for Japanese food, making sushi and miso soup a staple of her diet. She even admits the occasional afterschool Pinkberry runs with her kids.
Obviously, when Alessandra Ambrosio is preparing for a shoot or fashion show, she has to adjust her diet and exercise preferences accordingly. In her everyday life, however, the model has a refreshingly average routine.
