Alexa and Carlos PenaVega shared their baby’s pics on Instagram earlier this week. The baby boy has been named Ocean, and looks cute based on the images posted online.
The new mom kept up her fitness all throughout her pregnancy. The black and white image of PenaVega holding her newborn is captioned simply with “8.6 lb blessing. #OceanPenaVega #WelcomeHomeLilO.”
Husband Carlos posted his own picture to Instagram with baby Ocean, captioning it “The moment life changed forever. #welcomehomeLilO #12/7/16 #8pound6ounceblessing #GodisGreat.”
Later that day, the Spy Kids actress uploaded another pic of baby Ocean asleep in her lap while she rested in her hospital bed. “Little gift from God that I get to share with my husband,” was the caption expressing her joy at motherhood and having a baby with her husband.
The proud parents were married in January 2014. As for why they chose Ocean as their baby’s name, PenaVega explained, “God called the dry ground ‘land’ and the water the ‘seas.’ And God saw that it was good. That is why we went with Ocean. And he is a son of the one true ‘King.’ For us it has a beautiful biblical meaning.”

How Alexa PenaVega Stays in Shape
Actress Alexa PenaVega, known for her role in Spy Kids, loves spinning classes, although she used to be intimated by them. In an interview with Shape magazine, she said “I’d always go by and see people on their bikes looking so intense. But one day my sister and I worked up the courage to go in and now we’re hooked!”
Other than being obsessed with spin classes, PenaVega can’t get enough of Pilates. She trains with Hollywood fitness trainer Jenny Tate, who works her “until [her] muscles are exhausted! But [she] thinks of going to the gym at the jumpstart to [her] day; if [she doesn’t] go, [she will] feel groggy for the rest of the day.”
She also loves to do DVD workouts such as Insanity. She loves the Insanity workout because you can travel with it. No weights are needed, or a mat—just your own body and the DVD.
In the interview with Shape, she also said that she’s “all about squat jumps. Just get in front of your TV. Lift your arms up to give you that momentum and do as many as you can! Literally, the other day. I was on a mission to do 1,000 squats… and I did it!” Setting a goal for this exercise is important, in her opinion, because otherwise you won’t continue.
A good healthy exercise at the gym is something she loves (as well as good nutritious food), though she pulls back from admitting that she might be gym obsessed. “I feel like every day, whatever I do, I have to get my heart rate up, whether it’s hiking or going to gym, because I feel better and it clears my mind.”
