Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may be one of the most beautiful couples in Hollywood, but despite being in great shape, they allegedly don’t deny their kids’ sweet tooth cravings.

The Hollywood power couple is known for being down to earth when it comes to raising their kids. That seemed to be the case on Tuesday, when Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt took their son Knox to a small café for a special treat.

The occasion? Knox was turning eight years old. While some Hollywood celebrities are all about eating healthy, organic foods, Jolie and Pitt let Knox indulge his sweet tooth. He reportedly ate pancakes filled with Oreos, with whipped cream and sugar on top.

While many people are committed to healthy eating, there’s nothing wrong with having some sweets every once in a while. Even for kids, occasionally having sweet foods is not considered a health concern. It’s when sugar is consumed regularly that it becomes a problem.

In fact, eating large amounts of sugar regularly has been linked to a number of health conditions. One of the most commonly associated conditions is tooth decay. Sugar feeds bad bacteria in our mouths, dissolving tooth enamel and leading to cavities.

When children have cavities, one of the common culprits is eating too much sugar. However, adults can be just as affected by regular sugar consumption as well.

Eating too much sugar also causes spikes in our blood sugar levels, which raises our risk of developing obesity, diabetes, or cardiac disease. As well, eating sweets can make us pack on the pounds, as typically candy contains a lot of calories for its size.

If you want to satisfy your kid’s sweet tooth, it’s fine to follow in the steps of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Let your children have candy on their birthdays and on special occasions (Halloween, Easter, etc.) but limit their sugar consumption the rest of the time.
