Chefs Gordon Ramsay and Paula Deen Share Delicious Thanksgiving Recipes

Thanksgiving is fast approaching and all chefs are busy sharing their simple yet mouth-watering recipes for the special day. Gordan Ramsay shared a snap of an appetizing bright colored pumpkin soup with spiced pecans on Instagram. He insists his fans to join him live on Facebook where he will give the demo of the recipe.

The internationally renowned sharp-tongued chef, Gordon Ramsay, is more than just a star of the small screen. He runs a chain of successful restaurants across the globe. The celebrity chef, Paula Deen, is also preparing hard for Thanksgiving and sharing delicious recipes. While you have to wait to get Ramsay’s recipes on Facebook, we got a hold of some of Deen’s recipes.

Simple Roast Turkey

Ingredients:

Two tablespoons of garlic, cut in half horizontally

Two teaspoons of kosher salt

One teaspoon freshly ground pepper

One and a half sticks of butter at room temperature

One and a half lbs of turkey, fresh or defrosted

One onion, quartered

Two tablespoons of chopped rosemary

One stalk of celery of chopped thyme

One carrot cut into chunks

Method:

Preheat the oven to 375°.

In a small bowl combine butter, parsley, thyme, rosemary, salt and pepper

Tuck the wings under the bottom of the turkey placing the breast-side up in a roasting pan fitted with a v rack

Sprinkle the cavity of the turkey with salt and pepper

Stuff it with onion, celery, carrot, and garlic

Apply the butter mixture all over the turkey

Roast for 18 minutes per pound (check by inserting a thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh; it must show 165° and the juices must run clear)

Cover the turkey loosely with foil and rest for 20 minutes before carving

Deep-Fried Turkey

Ingredients:

Two tablespoons of kosher salt

Two tablespoons of dried rosemary

One teaspoon of dried sage

Two and a half tablespoons of Paula Deen House Seasoning

Three gallons of peanut oil

Half teaspoon of garlic powder

One 13-lb turkey (roughly)

Two tablespoons of freshly ground black pepper

Two tablespoons of dried thyme

Recipe:

Prepare the dry rub with kosher salt, dried thyme, dried rosemary, half teaspoon ouse seasoning, freshly ground black pepper, dried sage, and garlic powder

Leave the turkey overnight in the refrigerator for air drying

Rub the turkey with house seasoning and dry rub; allow the bird to sit until it reaches room temperature.

Add oil to a turkey fryer or a large stockpot and heat up to 350°; fully submerge the turkey in the hot oil and fry for three to five minutes per pound

Remove turkey from oil and drain on paper towels

Serve hot with sides

Southern Cornbread

Ingredients:

One cup of self-rising cornmeal

Half cup of self-rising flour

Three fourths cup of buttermilk

Two eggs

Two tablespoons of vegetable oil

Recipe:

Preheat oven to 350°

Combine the cornmeal, flour, buttermilk, eggs, and oil in a bowl; pour the batter into a greased shallow baking dish

Bake for approximately 20 to 25 minutes

Let it cool and serve
