Chris Pratt took to his Instagram recently to reveal his bruised arm. The Passengers star noted that the bruise came from a stunt that he performed during filming. Although the bruise looks pretty painful, the angle of his arms shows how muscular and jacked Pratt really is. To achieve his ripped body, Pratt undergoes plenty of training including weightlifting, abs workout, circuit training, and cardio.
Chris Pratt Diet and Workout
Pratt is a heavy-hitting actor. And for many of his roles, he not only needs to appear jacked, but he also has to be physically strong. Pratt completes many of his own stunts, and in order to do, so he must train intensely – although that doesn’t make him immune to injury!
For his role in Guardians of the Galaxy, Pratt had to get shredded and dropped over 60 pounds in six months. To achieve his look, he combined a very calculated diet plan with intense training delivered by trainer Duffy Gaver.
Gaver and Pratt worked together for five months, which started as four to six workout sessions a week. Outside of his designated training session, Pratt also was known for adding in his own workouts.
Gaver put Pratt through body-building workouts for the first two months, which were followed by bodybuilding and conditioning workouts for the following two months. The last month mainly consisted of cardio circuit training and more conditioning. The last month’s workouts included weightlifting, calisthenics, treadmills, rowing machines, swimming, or mountain biking. Gaver noted that Pratt wanted to be as lean and muscular as possible in order to give the role for the movie justice.
As for his diet during that time, Pratt eliminated junk food and, instead, opted for veggies, nuts, seeds, and other wholesome options. He avoided all alcohol during his training and mainly stuck with a low carb diet, only eating complex carbohydrates.
His meat choices were lean and reduced his intake of red meat or fatty meats, which together helped him achieve his weight loss and his ripped body.
Gaver opened up to Men’s Fitness about training Pratt and had this to say, “Chris’ athleticism is amazing. He is incredibly disciplined and his work ethic is phenomenal. He isn’t the client you have to push; he’s the type of client you have to pull down. If you were to walk into the gym when he was training, you would have thought for sure you’ve got a guy getting ready for the NFL Combine.”
Whether Chris Pratt is getting shredded or bulking up for his movie roles, you can’t deny that he gives it his all. He will train like a beast to be the best version of himself for the role.
