Christmas is here.. well, almost! The general scenario during the holidays is decorating Christmas trees with bright ornaments, Christmas dress shopping, writing your holiday cards for the season and of course, trying and testing new recipes to try for Christmas Day. It all begins with penning down a long, detailed list with precise measurements of ingredients that you will require for the grand Christmas day dinner; and then heading to the nearest supermarket to procure them.
However, what happens when you forget that one, extremely important ingredient on the D-Day? With most all of the stores fluctuating timings on Christmas day and Christmas Eve, you are left wondering where to go and pick up your last minute culinary ingredient.
Amongst the Wal-Mart’s and Giant Foods, Food Lion is another reputed food superstore. The Food Lion Christmas Hours differs every year; however, here is a detailed list of its timings and specials.
Is Food lion open on Christmas day?
This year, Food Lion shall be open on Christmas Eve i.e. 24th December. The store shall be closed on Christmas Day and resume its operations as per regular timings from December 26th, 2016.
The Food Lion Christmas Timings this year shall be similar to regular operational hours i.e. 7 am to 6 pm, but some smaller stores shall limit their hours. As the stores shall be closed on Christmas Day, they shall wind up sooner than usual on the previous evening.
The superstore shall commence its operations after Christmas celebrations with a number of Christmas clearance deals and Early New Year sales.
However, it is advisable to check the timings before you head to any of the outlets by checking their official website.
Food Lions Christmas Deals:
The superstore will be featuring lots of discounts, offers and coupons before and on Christmas day. The store shall be selling ready-to-eat party meat and cheese platter, cakes, cookies, muffins and holiday goodies and fresh, bakery savories, too.

Other Stores Open For Last-Minute Christmas Shopping:
Giant Food shall be open on Christmas Eve from 6 am to 7 pm and on Christmas day from 8 am to 5 pm. Most of the Safeway stores will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the timings are 7 am to 8 pm and 7 am to 5 pm respectively.
Another big seller, Trader Joe’s shall be open on Christmas Eve from 8 am to 6 pm and shall be closed on Christmas day. Harris Teeter will be open on Christmas Even until 7 pm and shut on the D-Day.
Mom’s Organic Market will be open on Christmas Eve from 9 am to 6 pm and closed on Christmas day.
Whole foods market has a number of outlets. While the Bethesda, Kentland’s and Rockville locations shall be open from 7 am to 7 pm on Christmas Eve, Silver Springs and Friendship Heights will service from 7 am to 8 pm and 7 am to 6 pm respectively. All the Mom’s Organic Market outlets shall be shut on Christmas day.
