Cristiano Ronaldo Fitness and Workout Secrets

Ronaldo sticks to a diet that is high in protein. Protein is essential when building muscle, as its job is to ensure cells and tissues can function properly.

Protein is also needed to help muscles recover from their use after a workout, and clearly, Ronaldo knows a thing or two from his soccer workouts.

In addition to high levels of protein in his diet, Ronaldo eats plenty of vegetables, whole grain carbs and fruit. He also avoids sugary foods and alcohol. Instead, he drinks plenty of water to stay hydrated.

When it comes to his workouts and bodybuilding, Ronaldo has a lot of wisdom to share from his extensive experience training for soccer tournaments (he’s been doing it since he was 3).

Here are some fitness secrets he swears by:

#1. Make sure your workouts are a combination of weight training and cardio (e.g. rowing or running) – this has several benefits including increasing stamina and strength, targeting all areas of the body and avoiding boredom in a workout routine

#2. Adding high-intensity exercises to your workouts actually makes them more effective; it increases heart rate, blood circulation and stamina – an example would be sprinting drills

#3. 30-minute cardio sessions at the gym or outdoors are great for building endurance – not to mention burning calories – and as you gain strength, you can increase your timing

#4. If you have time to exercise, do it! Ronaldo suggests that if you can fit in some type of exercise before bed or first thing in the morning, like abs work, it can become a healthy habit (also a great way not to make excuses about going to the gym)

#5. Keep a healthy mind, too – training your mind to be strong is just as important as keeping your body strong

#6. Sleep is paramount to muscle recovery – adequate sleep ensures that you will get the most from your workouts

#7. Relaxing is important, too – Ronaldo spends his free time with friends and family, which helps him to stay in a positive mind set; remember that stress is not your friend

#8. Staying hydrated during workouts is also important – water flushes out toxins from the body

At just 31 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo has such a successful soccer career, not to mention a killer body, and it seems like the sky is the limit for this athlete. His ambition is noteworthy, as he strives to be better at what he does every day.

The advice he offers for anyone trying to get a handle on their fitness is practical and straightforward, and he even has workout videos that demonstrate his training.
