Summer is a perfect time to enjoy salads and homemade food because in many states fresh produce is available directly from local farmers.

Celebrities such as Danica Patrick, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Kendra Wilkinson aren’t immune to wanting to eat food that’s natural and made close to home—in fact, they might want to do so more than others because of the often strict diets they adhere to keep their trim physiques.

And there’s no better way to get a plate full of nourishing goodness than to create fresh food in the form of summer salads.

Many stars love social media and posting pictures and clips of what they are doing and eating, including colorful and lively salads and other homemade goods. Reality TV star Kendra Wilkinson posted a video of a scrumptious pizza she made with her son. It was topped with spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, and garlic on one side; the other side wasn’t so healthy, being topped with “Oreos,” bacon, and gummies (presumably for her son).

Gwyneth Paltrow posted a beautiful picture on Instagram in May of a plate of Caesar salad tapas. Danica Patrick takes full advantage of fresh summer salads and also posted a picture on Instagram of a salad with spinach, avocado, chicken, grilled pineapple, sweet basil, and pesto basil from her garden.

How Danica Patrick, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Kendra Wilkinson Follow Diets to Stay Healthy

Danica Patrick takes her health seriously; so much so that she won’t even allow herself cheat days. Being on the road doesn’t cause her to waiver either; she just plans ahead and ensures she has a fridge full of fresh, nourishing ingredients. She would rather stay on her touring bus and cook anyway, because she loves to cook and is quite the foodie.

Gwyneth Paltrow is very much the same and she adheres to a strict clean diet so she can maintain her red-carpet figure. She believes that it isn’t so much about what you eat during your three meals a day, but more about what you’re eating between those meals, and that’s a good point. Consuming nutritious snacks is as important as eating carefully planned, balanced meals. Paltrow herself loves to snack on almonds, raisins, and coconut water between meals.

Former Playboy Mansion bunny and reality TV star Kendra Wilkinson needed to shed over 50 pounds after giving birth to her second child in May 2015. She opted to follow a specific diet and chose Atkins because it helps speed up the metabolism and promote fat loss by restricting carbs (at first) and eating high-protein foods. The diet has different phases, and by using it Wilkinson was able to lose the weight. As her Instagram post indicates, she’s clearly eating carbs again and has found a way to incorporate the foods she loves into her diet regimen.
