Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) hottie Peta Murgatroyd is expecting her first child with husband and fellow DWTS star Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
She has been seen confidently flaunting her baby bump, which is pronounced as she’s in her 25th week of pregnancy. They expect the little angel to arrive on January 2nd. She didn’t reveal her pregnancy until the second trimester, where she shared a pic during her 14th week of pregnancy.
The soon-to-be father, Maks Chmerkovskiy, shared a pic with Murgatroyd on Instagram, showing off her bump and his abs!

The couple is very much excited about welcoming their first child and is deciding a name for him. She revealed to her fans that she wishes to have at least two kids.
Chmerkovskiy previously told People he is by Murgatroyd’s side for all of her prenatal visits. “I’m fascinated with what is happening with the body. Going to the ultrasounds and seeing everything is incredible,” Chmerkovskiy said.
Murgatroyd’s Pre-Pregnancy Workout Routine
The DWTS star practices a number of workouts apart from dancing.
When she is not busy practicing any of the stage performances, her workout routine includes Pilates, strength training, and interval training under the supervision of her personal trainer, David Walters.
For toning her shoulders, arms, waist, stomach, and butt, she does strength training. Weight lifting helps her enhance the muscle mass in her body. She also loves running and doesn’t miss any opportunity to go out.
Workout Routine during Pregnancy
Murgatroyd shared another pic on Instagram, where she says she loves keeping fit even while pregnant.
At the 20th week of pregnancy, she says that she prefers being active—as opposed to being a couch potato—as an active pregnancy is healthier for the baby and the mother. She’s stated that she will keep moving and doing some exercise each day until she’s too big to move.
She says in the Instagram caption,
“Believe me, it’s not easy, I’m not used to this body I have at the moment, and I’m heavier than I have ever been. The parts @maksimc and I laugh about the most, are the fact that I have to roll out of bed (I don’t want to squish the baby, I use my hands to push myself off the couch and he has to boost my butt out of his low car.”

Murgatroyd’s Pre-Pregnancy Diet
While working on DWTS, she prefers to eat light meals. She ensures that her calorie intake is sufficient to provide her enough energy to dance.
She often relies on a liquid diet consisting of green smoothies and protein shakes prior dancing.
Diet During Pregnancy
Murgatroyd’s pregnancy had less impact on her daily diet, as she was health conscious even before she got pregnant. She continues to eat healthy foods during pregnancy. She craves fresh fruits and indulges in pickles. Her pregnancy cravings are also healthy it seems!
“I’m glad I ate really healthily before I got pregnant because I don’t crave McDonald’s and doughnuts and stuff like that,” Murgatroyd told People. “My diet right now is crazy. I crave fresh fruit and pickles and I’ll have everything at the same time. I’ll have organic salsa and chips and then pineapple, and I’ll finish it with two pickles.”
