In the Brady household, you’ll only find the best and healthiest meals. Tom Brady and wife Gisele Bundchen are all about healthy food recipes, and cooking homemade food. After all, the 36-year-old Bundchen is a retired supermodel, and the 39-year-old Brady is a NFL quarterback and four-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots.

Gisele Bundchen always makes sure that the family is well fed with gluten-free and organic meals that include vegetables straight from the garden. Brady and Bundchen share two children together, Benjamin and Vivian. Bundchen is also the stepmom of Brady’s son Jack.

Winter in New England is very cold, so the Brady family can’t really grow vegetables all year round. The growing season yields many veggies such as kale, arugula, spinach, cucumbers, zucchinis, tomatoes, and squash—they will last throughout the winter!

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s Healthy Diet and Lifestyle

Tom Brady attributes his success on the football field to his healthy eating habits and plant-based diet. Brady even released the TB12 Nutrition Manual, which features TB12 nutrition philosophies and 89 healthy recipes.

In 2016, he launched his own line of vegan snacks, which include superfood energy squares, blueberry crunch, and cacao goji energy squares. Brady’s diet also avoids sugar, but does include Himalayan sea salt and coconut oil.

The Brady family also employs personal chef Joanne Gerrard Young, who is a master raw food chef, holistic nutritionist, and the health educator behind The Healing Cuisine. Brady and Bundchen often consume large meals at lunch, and then have smaller dinners. Some of chef Gerrard Young’s specialties include Swiss chard summer rolls with a sweet and spicy almond sauce, a superfood green smoothie, creamy coconut noodles with a creamy coconut sauce, pineapple cucumber gazpacho, and a coconut mango cream pie with a coconut cream filling. The following is Gerrard Young’s Swiss chard summer rolls. Don’t be fooled by the name; you can make them at any point of the year.

Swiss Chard Summer Rolls

Ingredients: 1 bunch of Swiss chard, 1 red pepper, 1 large carrot, 1/4 red cabbage, 1/4 white cabbage, 2 green onions, chopped, 8 fresh basil leaves, chopped, A handful of chopped cilantro, A handful of chopped mint leaves.

Directions: Remove bottom part of the Swiss chard leaf stems, and wash the leaves gently. Part them dry with a kitchen towel. Julienne the carrots and red pepper, and finely slice the cabbages.

One at a time, take the Swiss chard leaves and place the carrots, red pepper, and white cabbage. Top each leaf with a pinch of each herb and green onion.

Begin to roll the lead from the bottom, and try to tuck the end into the other side. Continue to roll. Place it on a plate, and continue to assemble the rolls with the remaining leaves. When finished, you can enjoy them in a sweet and spicy almond sauce.

Sweet and Spicy Almond Sauce

Ingredients: 1/2 cup of almond butter, 2 tbsp. of coconut aminos, 1 tsp. of coconut sugar, 2 tbsp. of fresh water, A squeeze of lime juice, 1/8 tsp. of grated ginger, 1 small clove of pressed garlic, A pinch of sea salt, A few fresh cilantro leaves for garnish.

Directions: In a small bowl, whisk the coconut sugar, coconut aminos, water, and lime juice together. Add garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes, and continue to whisk. Add a half cup of almond butter, and combine well. Divide the dipping sauce into individual dipping cups, and garnish with one fresh cilantro leaf.

Other Healthy Recipes to Keep Gisele Bundchen and Her Family Fit

However, the Brady family also spends time cooking healthy meals themselves. Bundchen begins her day with lukewarm water and lemon juice, as well as homemade green juice that includes lots of veggies and fruit like celery, kale, spinach, ginger, cucumber, turmeric, and apple. Basically, she will add whatever’s in her fridge into the juicer.

With three young children at home, Bundchen provides the family with lots of healthy meals and snacks. She makes the kids everything for breakfast, including scrambled eggs and gluten-free toast with avocado, gluten-free pancakes, and coconut yogurt. She will also serve the kids a combination of acai with banana and berries, and try to convince them that it’s ice cream.

One of the family’s favorites includes almonds with herbs. For this easy recipe, Bundchen soaks raw almonds overnight, and then peels them in the morning. She then finely chops rosemary and garlic from the garden, and mixes the herbs, olive oil, and some sea salt with the almonds. Everything is placed on a parchment-paper lined baking sheet, and baked in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

Bundchen also avoids caffeine, and drinks tea before bed. She believes it also helps to have a healthy attitude about how to nourish your body. It is so healthy in the Brady household that even the kids give away their Halloween candy. Bundchen says that they really don’t have that kind of sugar in the household.

The healthy diet regimen is clearly working for the entire Brady family!
