Khloe Kardashian has always been a bit on the heavy side, but by adopting a consistent workout routine and a new diet—and through sheer determination—she’s lost 40 pounds. Discipline is the key to her success, and according to her trainer, Gunnar Peterson, she exercises three or four times a week, doing strength training, boxing, and medicine-ball workouts.
But as with many fitness stories, diet plays a more important role. Kardashian notices that she tends to skip breakfast when she’s super-busy, which can lead to quick hits of fast food, so instead she keeps healthy, non-perishable snacks in her car.
When she does have a proper breakfast, it’s often a banana and almond butter. Lunch is usually a salad and dinner consists of chicken, steamed vegetables, and rice or sweet potatoes.
If she wants a snack at home, she reaches for fruit or some veggie slices. She attributes much of her weight loss success to giving up dairy, but she also doesn’t completely deprive herself of her old favorite foods, either: the occasional slice of pizza or some M&Ms is OK. A little cheating is mentally helpful when dieting and can keep you on the right path.
Celebrity health news portal Healthy Celeb notes Khloe Kardashian’s current weight as 163 lbs., which suggests she weighed 203 lbs. before her 40 pound weight loss.
Khloe Kardashian’s weight loss with proper diet and workout keeps her calm and healthy
Khloe Kardashian’s weight loss could have been faster by being even better with food, she admits. She believes in comfortable losing weight at a slower pace and doesn’t want to completely cut out the parts of her life that are fun. Ultimately, this can make for a better and more relaxed state of mind, and perhaps a more reasonable and healthy rate of weight loss.
This in turn can lead to stress reduction, which is important no matter who you are. When Kardashian is feeling overwhelmed and stressed out, she hits the gym, saying that exercise decompresses her and calms her down, and that she feels less anxious and combative after a workout.
If you want more details on what Kardashian is up to when it comes to diet and exercise, you can access her app. The app features topics such as her workout mantras or what’s on her grocery list, but it also covers topics beyond fitness, such as book recommendations, beauty/fashion tips, and love and relationships.
There are also exclusive photos, live video, and behind-the-scenes content. In fact, all of the Kardashian/Jenner sisters have similar apps of their own.
Whatever you might think of Khloe Kardashian and her family—lots of people adore them and lots of people don’t—losing 40 pounds is pretty impressive, and not easy, even if you’ve got all the trainers, personal chefs, and gym equipment money can buy. It always comes down to individual will—weight loss won’t happen unless you want it badly enough, through dedication to diet and a strong workout routine.
