In a statement, Jennifer Lopez said she is looking forward to the new musical journey while celebrating her Latin roots with Marc Anthony. J. Lo. will be busy for the months ahead. She will back to her All I Have Las Vegas residency in December while also working on projects like an all-Spanish album. She also currently stars in the crime drama Shades of Blue, which will continue its second season in 2017. Lopez has also been cast as Rosie Alvarez in the 2017 TV movie musical Bye Bye Birdie Live!

Not to mention that J. Lo. has to balance a busy work life with her home life. The A-list superstar has eight-year-old twins—son, Max, and daughter, Emme—with ex-husband Anthony. How does Jennifer Lopez live such an active life? Well, she also makes time for a healthy diet and regular workout routine. Let’s take a quick look at J. Lo.’s diet and her workout routine that keeps her in shape.

How Jennifer Lopez’s Diet Keeps Her Fit

Jennifer Lopez has a history of eating a gluten-free and vegan diet. Back in 2014, J. Lo. experimented with the diets with the guidance of exercise physiologist, Marco Borges, to help her lose 10 pounds. The gluten-free and vegan diet helped J. Lo. drop from a dress size four to a size two.

A vegan diet contains lots of vegetables, fruits, lentils, beans, nuts, seeds, and seed and nut-based butters, and flours. It also excludes all types of animals and animal products, like fish, poultry, meat, eggs, dairy, and even honey. A gluten-free diet includes corn, buckwheat, arrowroot, amaranth, millet, rice, soy, potatoes, teff, and quinoa. The diet avoids wheat, couscous, kamut, spelt, semolina, rye, barley, and semolina. Sometimes, oats are omitted as well as they can be contaminated with wheat.

What does J. Lo.’s diet contain exactly? First off, her diet is 100% organic and contains a balance between high-quality protein and nutrient-dense foods. Everything is fresh except for her protein powder. When she is not eating a vegan diet, she sometimes eats a salad with fish or chicken. She also drinks plenty of water throughout her day.

For breakfast, Lopez consumes millet cereal with almond milk, bananas, and blueberries. Lunch is a kale salad with red peppers. Dinner includes zucchini noodle pasta with vegan cheese and tomatoes. She also loves broccoli. Jennifer Lopez also refrains from caffeine, alcohol, or smoking cigarettes. Every once in a while, she splurges and eats foods like potato chips, cookies, or cake.

What is J. Lo.’s Exercise and Workout Routine?

Jennifer Lopez complements her healthy diet with an equally impressive workout routine. J. Lo.’s cardio and abs workout keeps her in shape. When she is in New York, Lopez works out with trainer David Kirsch. At that time, her exercises include everything from pushups to boxing to planks. Lopez also works out with Tracy Anderson when in Los Angeles, California. Anderson’s exercise program includes muscular structure work and up to 13 exercises that change every 10 days. The one-hour workout also includes 30 minutes of a glutes exercises and a dance aerobics routine.

Jennifer Lopez also makes sure she gets plenty of beauty sleep, making sure she gets at least seven to eight hours every night. If she doesn’t J. Lo. tends to feel tired and emotional throughout her day. Needless to say, Lopez will be ready for the Latin Grammy Awards with her healthy diet and exercise program, which clearly keep the Latin singer in shape.
