Stars of the Justice League, Henry Cavill, Amber Heard, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, and J.K. Simmons, all have to undergo intense workout routines to take on their superhero personas. Superman Henry Cavill completes nine workouts in seven days and Wonder Woman Gal Gadot performs some pretty insane training herself to fulfill the role of the Amazon warrior princess.
Needless to say, the shoes of a superhero are big ones to fill, but all of these actors and actresses have been putting in plenty of hours in the gym to bring forth the best rendition of DC Comics’ Justice League possible.
Here is a recap of the cast of the Justice League’s intense workout and diet habits.
Henry Cavill Reveals Insane Training Photo and Workout Routine for Justice League
Henry Cavill’s Justice League workout routine must be seriously intense in order for him to get his super-human physique.

Cavill’s fitness routine, training, and diet plan is being heavily scrutinized as a pic of the Superman actor intensely pulling a rope attached to a large tire or weight of some kind continues to go viral on social media.
According to the photo caption, the first week of Henry Cavill’s Justice League training involved nine workouts and a hell of a lot of food.
The 33-year-old has reached international fame since first donning the Superman cape in the 2013 reboot film Man of Steel, and he later reprised that role in this year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The British actor will again become Superman in Justice League Part One and Justice League Part Two, which are planned for 2017 and 2019, respectively.
To play Superman in the upcoming Justice League, Henry Cavill followed a strenuous routine that saw him working out in the gym every day of the week.
Cavill worked out seven days a week and even pulled double duty on some of those days, aiming for at least nine separate workouts each week. Cavill’s workouts are geared towards bulking him up—after all, Superman is a big guy.
For this reason, Cavill focused mostly on heavy lifting. He did exercises like heavy squats using a kettle bell, and Olympic weightlifting techniques. These exercises helped him pack a lot of muscle mass onto his frame.
The Englishman credits his heroic physique to trainers Michael Blevins and Mark Twight, who is the founder of Gym Jones. Cavill just asks for advice from his trainers, and they tell him what will help him accomplish his goal. Twight, in particular, is the trainer behind Gerard Butler’s transformation for the movie 300.
Twight had no easy task of getting the actor to maintain the same body and fitness-training routine for the entire 120-day Man of Steel shoot. Cavill had a similar daily workout plan for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and now for the Justice League films.
His exercise routine has a four-phase process, with preparation, muscle-bulking, learning out, and maintenance phases.
Amber Heard Has Some Pretty Intense Justice League Workouts
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s divorce settlement allegedly caused Amber Heard to lose 20 pounds due to “overwhelming stress”.
The actress endured public scrutiny when she went to police with allegations against Depp for domestic violence (full details about the allegations have not been confirmed). Let’s take a closer look at Amber Heard’s weight loss.

When sources spotted the actress in June of this year, Amber Heard was looking both blank and frail. After filing a restraining order against Depp, the media attention swirled around speculation of what else could have happened behind closed doors between the two.
The news came as a surprise and appears to have taken a toll on Heard. She was reportedly supposed to be cross examined under oath for the abuse allegations back in June, but wasn’t available due to a fitting for her upcoming movie Justice League.
When Heard arrived for her fitting, she was reportedly sent away due to extreme weight loss (to the tune of an alleged 20 pounds).
Although Heard’s method for dropping 20 pounds has not been confirmed, it could possibly have been due to stress. It’s been assumed, although not verified, that Heard has lost her appetite during this stressful time.
Amber Heard is undergoing intense three-hour-long training sessions with a personal trainer to prepare for her role as Mera in Justice League. Some photos have recently surfaced that show the actress jogging in a park in London.
According to sources, Heard is doing all kinds of exercises to stay in shape including cross training, weight training, combat and stunt training. She also does gym workouts to accompany her outdoor training.
Her role in the film is apparently one of a strong and empowering female character – and one that Heard is said to be looking forward to playing after her recent, highly publicized divorce.
Gal Gadot of Wonder Woman and Justice League Fame Says Boxing Is a Favorite Workout Routine
Actress Gal Gadot first hit North American movie screens as Gisele in The Fast and the Furious movie franchise, but it was the Gal Gadot Wonder Woman performance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that really made an impression on fans.
The Gal Gadot workout and diet regimen had to be pretty intense, considering the fairly skimpy outfit she had to wear in most of her scenes as Wonder Woman.

The Gal Gadot workout routine is rigorous and requires discipline, and she credits her military experience for helping her stick with it (she spent two years in the Israel Defense Forces). She is not a stranger to intense training and physically and mentally demanding exercises.
She is also going through a huge body transformation as she gets in shape for these roles –after all, Wonder Woman’s got to look like she can kick some serious butt.
Judging by her social media pictures, she’s really building up the muscle definition in her arms, which raises questions as to whether Gadot is weight training, although her exact exercises are unknown.
Jason Momoa and J.K. Simmons Share Justice League Training and Workout
Jason Momoa, aka Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones, is jacked—and he likes to remind people. The star, who spends an hour shirtless on television screens across the globe, has recently been sharing shirtless training videos of himself in the gym.

The journey to getting lean for his upcoming Aquaman role seems to be why, and he’s capturing the transformation for all to see.
Workouts are nothing new for Momoa, who has a big, muscular physique. His size on Game of Thrones is a result of heavy lifting and heavy eating, but for Aquaman, he needs to make a few changes. He’ll be going for a lean, shredded physique so he’s got to alter his diet and workout routine.
The first thing he’s doing is dialing back his diet. If he wants to get lean, he’ll have to ditch the pizza and beer and any other food that’s high in carbs and calories. Instead, he’ll be opting for healthy fats and proteins and plenty of green vegetables.
As he leans out for Aquaman, he’ll likely preform more isolation movements like bicep curls, abdominals, and chest flyes to bring out the detail in his physique. But the core strength movements he seems to prefer are compound movements that utilize multiple muscle groups.
He believes in training heavily and with high intensity, which is great for muscle growth, fat loss and strength. But I’d be willing to bet that as he gets further into his Aquaman prep he’ll be opting for lighter weights, less rest and much more reps!
Commissioner Gordon is going to be ripped in the upcoming Justice League movie, with J.K. Simmons playing the role of the head of the Gotham City Police.
The Oscar-winning actor has been training relentlessly for the character, working with celebrity trainer and former marine Aaron Williamson, who also trains The Rock. The workouts are making this 61-year-old look like a pro bodybuilder.
We’re definitely excited to see how all these stars finally look when the Justice League movie hits theaters! They have all put in an immense amount of work, and it will be amazing to see them personify their superhero characters on the big screen.
