Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards has found new romance with Arsenal footballer, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. After her split from a brief fling with actor, Luke Pasqualino, and a highly public split from former One Direction singer, Zayn Malik last year, it appears Edwards has moved on to more exciting horizons. Although it’s still early days, it’s alleged that the two are very happy but keeping their relationship as private as possible for the time being. Here is a look into how Edwards keeps her toned body.
Perrie Edwards on Fitness
It is alleged that the beautiful Perrie Edwards follows what is known as the ketogenic diet—a high fat, adequate protein, and low carb diet. This type of diet assists the body in using fat as energy and therefore helps in burning fat, too. One of the benefits of this diet is a lean abdominal region since much fat from this area of the body melts away. This process is also known as ketosis (when the body starts to use fat as energy) and on this diet, it takes the body three days before entering into this state. To facilitate this, there is absolutely no carbohydrate consumption (including fruits and veggies). After the third day, you can gradually begin incorporating these foods back into your diet. This diet is also similar to the Atkins and Paleo diets which many celebs also follow.
Edwards also practices portion control, which means that she eats several small meals throughout the day to promote effective digestion. Examples of practicing portion control include eating only half of a larger sized meal and saving it for later, eating smaller portions of food and then drinking water or tea to prevent binging, or even using a bit more fat in your meals but eating less food. This provides the fuel your body needs to keep going without an overwhelming amount of heavy calories.
Aside from her regular diet, Edwards revealed to Cosmopolitan that when she’s going through a challenging breakup, it does change. She is a firm believer in eating one’s way through the pain in the form of junk food like ice cream, popcorn, and chocolate. We have to say, that it is pretty good advice. She definitely has some great breakup advice for anyone who is going through something similar. After that first stage of chocolate and ice cream, she says you begin to enjoy life again by surrounding yourself with positive people. That’s all we can really ask for, right? The best part about all this advice is how relatable she really is on her cheat days, and you’ve got to love her for that.
When it comes to her workout regimen, Perrie Edwards admits she is not much of a gym person—especially in comparison to her other bandmates in Little Mix. Instead, the 22-year-old admits that when she has time off, she really enjoys relaxing. Specifically, she likes to “get pampered.” She loves just chilling out, watching TV, and unwinding. And while this isn’t always the best remedy for every one—it is always important to ensure you have enough down time for optimal health! Judging by her tight tummy, it’s not a stretch to assume Edwards also follows an abs workout.
