With Christmas around the corner, there’s something special cooking up in every home. The holiday season, one of the biggest of the year and popular all over the world, is best known as a time for celebration, joy, and laughter. What better way to ring in this festive season than rejoicing and welcoming it with scrumptious food? While some prefer festive seasons at home, most folks love to opt for a dinner in a swanky restaurant, or to try a ‘Christmas Special’ introduced at their favorite outlet.
Popular food chains across the world feel are no different. Brands like McDonald’s, KFC, Burger King, Starbucks, and Taco Bell are a few who constantly experiment with their menu. Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, and New Years are significant times of the year when people travel and spend times with their loved ones, making it an excellent occasion to introduce something special. With Starbucks Special Seasonal Latte’s, McDonalds Classic Fries, and Taco Bells varied tacos for every occasion, the holiday season has definitely brought a lot of smiles over the years.
McDonald’s Waffle Fries
The popular fast food chain recently announced its decision to introduce Waffle Fries at their Canada restaurants, the perfect holiday gift to its fans. A close replica of the Chick-fil-A’s waffle fries, fans McDonald’s are going crazy over the new addition to the menu.
The news was first shared on McDonald’s Instagram page, with large waffle fries displayed in a classic red case with a giant M logo with a maple leaf, denoting their Canadian locations. The waffle fries looked crispy and delicious, and resembled a large waffle. An impressive take on the regular fries that McDonald’s is popular for, the waffle fries will be a good addition to their classic burgers and wraps—or you can simply devour them on their own with ketchup.
Fans of the fast food chain took it to commenting on the news via Instagram and Twitter. They posted a picture of the waffle fries with the caption “They’re just here for the holidays, so try them today!” and the hashtag “SeasonsCravings.” Canadians were obviously overjoyed. “Well, this is unexpected. #WaffleFries” was tweeted by one fan, while another tweeted, “#IamThankfulFor waffle fries @McD_Canada. Sooo good!” Fans also liked and commented on the brands Instagram page.
McDonald’s spokesperson, Adam Grachnik, shed some more light on the news. The waffle fries, along with some other additions to the holiday season, have been introduced at McDonald’s 1,400 outlets in Canada this year. He also mentioned other new additions, like the Salted Caramel Latte, Potato Rosti and Bacon Burger, and Turtle Sundae with Pecans.
However, there was no news about the launch of the menu in the Unites States. The Pepper mint mocha, however, shall be introduced at the American fast food chains.
More Special Introductions this Holiday Season
With McDonald’s Canada coming up with a brand-new menu featuring waffle fries, a bacon burger, and other holiday specials, other fast food chains are taking note. Burger King also recently shared news about introducing a doughnut burger in Israel for the coming Hanukkah.
