Orlando Bloom, Current Boyfriend of Katy Perry, Never Skips His Workout Routine

What does Hollywood star Orlando Bloom do when he’s not on the silver screen or hanging out with popstar girlfriend Katy Perry? Workouts. And as underwhelming as that might sound, you can bet there’s more to the story as a shirtless Bloom took it upon himself to charm a group of partygoers.

Orlando Bloom Was Exercising During Birthday Party, Leaving Foods Behind

Orlando Bloom took a break from a friend’s birthday party to show Katy Perry just what he’s made of. In a recent Instagram post, Bloom steps away from the cake do to a quick workout, performing four pull-ups (and looking more like a dud than a firework in the process).

All joking aside, Bloom is known for his toned body and good looks. So before he dives in on a piece of birthday cake he takes a moment to make sure he really earns the tasty treat.

How Does Orlando Bloom Maintain His Lean Body?

Orlando Bloom keeps himself in shape without spending grueling hours pushing weights in a gym. Instead, he prefers high-intensity cardiovascular workouts such as stair climbing and running. He keeps his muscles loose and toned by using yoga and strength-building techniques such as Pilates, which require core strength.

Some exercises you can do to strengthen your core include side planks with leg raises, torso twists, and V-ups.

Side Planks with Leg Raises
Lie on the ground in a side plank position and place all the weight on your forearm. Tighten your core so your body is elevated and with your foot on the ground. Raise the opposite foot by contracting the oblique muscle facing the ceiling.

Torso Twists
Using body weight or resistance, stand with your feet firmly planted on the ground and slowly rotate your torso from side to side. Hold at full extension/contraction for two seconds, then go the other way. Make sure your hips are facing forwards and not moving as you twist.

V-Ups
Lay down flat on the floor in a straight line, arms at your sides. Contract your abs and pull your legs and arms up until they meet in the middle. Hold the contraction for a second and return to the starting position.

Not Just Exercise

The main factor in Bloom’s physique is his diet. You’ll see in photos that he doesn’t have much noticeable muscle, and that’s because of his training style and the fact he is loyal to a vegan diet. He sticks to low-sugar, low-GI diet rich in fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, complex carbs, and protein. Practicing this style of eating ensures he gets plenty of fiber to protect his heart and help with nutrient absorption. He gets his protein from plant sources such as quinoa, beans, legumes, and nuts, while avoiding meat and dairy products. To get his fats, he sticks to things such as olive oil, nuts, avocado, and seed oils.

Orlando Bloom’s toned body is a testament to the work he puts in, and it certainly caught the attention of Katy Perry. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of workout he has in store for her birthday.
