Rebel Wilson Weight Loss Update: ‘Pitch Perfect’ 3 Star’s Secret Diet and Workout to Lose 20 Pounds

Comedian and actress Rebel Wilson is best known for her role as Fat Amy in the Pitch Perfect movie franchise. The Pitch Perfect 3 release date is set for December 22, 2017. However, could “Fat Amy” be changing her name to “Not-So-Fat Amy” for the next Pitch Perfect? Possibly, but Wilson’s weight loss has certainly been a hot topic of conversation for fans of the actress this year.

For instance, the How to Be Single star showed off her slimmer physique at the wedding of Pitch Perfect costars Skylar Austin and Anna Camp just a few months ago. Last year Wilson also reportedly dropped four dress sizes.

Wilson has always portrayed the overweight and lovable party girl. In addition to the Pitch Perfect movies, she has made audiences laugh in the film Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie (2016) and the TV series Super Fun Night (2013-2014).

How does the 36-year-old look so great now? Wilson pulled off 20 pounds of weight loss after switching to a healthy diet and a regular workout routine. Here is a brief look at how Wilson lost her weight with her exercise and diet programs.

The Rebel Wilson Weight Loss Diet

Rebel Wilson says that no person ever dreams to become a fat person. It always hurts Wilson whenever she reads comments online that describe her as morbidly obese. Weight loss diets are not a new thing for Wilson. The Australian actress became a spokesperson for the nutrition and weight loss company Jenny Craig in 2011. The program was working too, as Wilson had lost 22 pounds since signing up for it.

The Jenny Craig program began in 1983 in Australia, before setting up a U.S. operation in 1985. It is a three-level weight loss program that teaches clients how to eat in smaller, less frequent portions. The program also teaches balance and how to increase energy levels with exercise.

However, Wilson ended her agreement with Jenny Craig in 2012. Apparently Hollywood wouldn’t let Wilson lose any more weight. In her contract for the original Pitch Perfect, she was required to stay the same size. Probably because she was playing a character named Fat Amy. The producers had refused to let her lose any more weight while filming the movie.

Wilson said that once her film commitments were over with Pitch Perfect, she would start her diet again to reach her target weight of being 180 pounds. There have been two more Pitch Perfect films, and Wilson is still losing weight.

Wilson has also changed her snacking habits. Instead of her high-carb snacks, she has opted for healthy snacks like raw almond butter with carrots and celery, zucchini chips with garden vegetable hummus, cucumber, and carrot chips in fresh guacamole, chicken breast with olive oil and guacamole, and some almonds, cashews, or Brazil nuts.

How Does Rebel Wilson Work out to Lose Weight?

Rebel Wilson also lost eight pounds in four days while participating in a lifestyle weight loss program and fitness retreat camp in Malibu called The Ranch 4.0. The program began on a Thursday and ended on a Monday, and it helped jumpstart a path of healthy living for Wilson.

The program included eight hours of rigorous exercise, with four hours of mountain climbing, hiking, stretching, planks, leg raises, weight training, and exercise classes like yoga. There are also plant-based and organic cooking demonstrations and daily massages.

When not on a weight loss retreat, Wilson’s workout routine includes high intensity exercises, including jogging, lunges, squats, push-ups, and jumping jacks. She will complete high intensity training for least five to 10 minutes daily, and four times weekly. Her workout helps Wilson boost her metabolism, while burning fat and calories at the same time.
