Adriana Lima is one of the lucky models who were cast to be in this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2016. Model Elsa Hosk is there with her, but absent this year are Behati Prinsloo, who just had a baby, and Candice Swanepoel.
Lima, 35, has one of the most coveted bodies of all the Angels, and the secret is her workout and fitness routine—also, lots of boxing. This is the sixteenth time the model has walked the runway for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The model works out with her boxing trainer, Michael Olajide Jr. She told Hollywood Life in an interview that “working out is really part of my life every day. It’s part of my job, [but] my passion is still boxing.” Her boxing cardio routine includes jumping rope, boxing sequences, and working with resistance bands. This routine burns a lot of calories and tones her legs, behind, and arms. It’s also a terrific abs workout.
There are five core moves in her workouts that help her get the body that she has. Olajide has made it so that her routine is efficient, with five moves rounding out the workout for a full-body fix. And this routine can be done anywhere she is, without the need for a gym.
The first move is a warm-up with some boxing jabs, followed by squats to engage her lower body and get her heart rate up and blood flowing. The abs are worked on next: she engages in some core twists and side-reaching oblique raises. The final power move is to stretch after all of this other activity. Stretching helps prevent injury and should be done before a workout as well.
As for her diet, Lima says she likes to make sure that she eats healthy and balanced. But that’s not to say that even an Angel can’t give in to indulgences. Every now and again, she will give in to her love of chocolate cake. She feels a bit guilty afterwards, because she will often have not one, but three pieces of cake.
Adriana Lima’s Best Butt Workout Secret
Lima has one belief, and that is that the only way to get a good-looking butt is to actually get off your butt. Lima, 35, says that getting a tight backside is all about doing power squats, burpees, and running. Squats are a fantastic all-over body workout, and they target the glutes quite effectively, so doing a few sets of squats every day will get the job done.
Lima says she also loves walking a lot, because a combination of movements are needed to keep the behind lifted. The body plateaus when you do the same exercise repeatedly, so to avoid that, you should mix up your workouts. This is a great way to keep the muscles engaged and working hard. Her secret to getting her iconic Brazilian butt is to keep moving as much as possible.
