Is Target open on New Year’s Day?
Target’s regular store hours are from 8 am to 10 pm from Sunday to Thursday and 8 am to 11 pm on Friday and Saturday.
Target has decided to extend its shopping hours for the holiday season. On New Year’s Eve (Saturday, December 31st) Target store hours shall be from 8 am to 10 pm. On the following day i.e. New Year’s Day (Sunday, January 1st), Target stores shall be operational from 8 am to 10 pm.
Thus, Target’s hours today shall function as per regular working hours, however, due to holiday rush, it is advisable to call check before heading to a particular store. The official website also features a list of stores for customers’ convenience.

Though Walmart stores have fluctuating timings for the holiday season, most of its 24-hour outlets shall function as per regular business hours. Similarly, Toys “R” Us shall also operate as per regular timings, with some locations winding up sooner.
McDonald’s will open late but close as usual while Chipotle, Sam’s Club, Costco and Trader’s Joe shall all be closed on New Year’s Day. Best Buy, Bed Bath and Beyond and BJ’s will all shut early than usual, at about 7 p.m.
