The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev does intense workouts with personal trainer Harley Pasternak. Pasternak took to his Instagram recently to reveal a very exhausted Dobrev collapsed on a treadmill, and jokingly—or maybe not so jokingly—giving him the finger.

Some fitness secrets shared by Dobrev are that she enjoys swimming, yoga, and spinning, as well as working with a personal trainer. Her previous trainer Steve Moyer explained to Shape magazine that when Dobrev trains she’s “devoted, focused, self-motivated.

What keeps Dobrev lean and slender is her love for hot yoga. She has been known to practice yoga three to four times a week, with Bikram yoga being her favorite. For Dobrev, hot yoga is a stress reliever, and it improves her figure and stamina.
Dobrev eats low carb foods, not a completely low carb diet—there’s a difference. She has a balanced diet that includes plenty of veggies, lean protein, whole grains, and healthy fats.
She has previously tried to go vegan, but she found it caused her to become too lean and she received backlash because of it. Aside from not sticking with the vegan diet, she also condemns fad diets and refuses to try them.
As for her meals, Dobrev consumes five to six of them a day, as opposed to the traditional three meals a day many of us follow. Eating in this style helps keep your metabolism high throughout the day. As an actress, Dobrev is constantly travelling, so she ensures that she has healthy snacks with her at all times.
