Candice Swanepoel Looks like a Pregnant Goddess

Candice Swanepoel is a stunning Victoria’s Secret Angel who is sharing her pregnancy diet secrets: organic food, Pilates, and yoga. She is not the only supermodel who is expecting, as friend and fellow Angel Behati Prinsloo is also a mom-to-be. How do these women manage to make pregnancy look so good? It seems that focusing on putting wholesome and healthy foods into their bodies is the key. As many fitness experts suggest, “when you eat better, you feel better.” And that applies to growing babies, too.

Another big piece of advice is to prepare. A pregnancy diet requires preparing the body before, during, and after pregnancy. Before pregnancy, it’s best to make sure one is at their ideal weight. By doing this and eating healthily before and during pregnancy, a woman is more likely to return to her pre-baby body weight. During pregnancy, it’s important to stay active with exercises like swimming, dancing and cardio sculpting, but anything too intense should be avoided. The diet should be nutritious but not restrictive. Foods such as vegetables, lean protein, and healthy carbs are suggested. There shouldn’t be much worrying about calorie intake; it’s more about the quality of food being put into the body.

To go back to a pre-baby body after pregnancy, it’s important to take it slow and start with walking and water exercises first. Slowly working one’s way back to fitness is a process and moms should not be too hard on themselves. For Swanepoel, her pre-pregnancy workout consisted of yoga, Pilates on the reformer, and weight lifting, and maybe that’s why she is so fit!

Pregnancy Diet Secrets Revealed

Swanepoel’s pregnancy diet secret is her commitment to eating natural and organic foods. The beautiful model does not deprive herself but instead keeps it real. In an interview with OK! Magazine, the stunning beauty said, “Food-wise, I’m very, very lucky that I can eat whatever I want. For me, I’ve always had a healthy lifestyle. If I eat something that’s not fresh, I feel it immediately, so I crave good food.”

Her cravings? Swanepoel explained she craves meat because she grew up on a dairy and beef farm. “I don’t cut anything out,” she said. “I just work out more.” It’s really that simple for her. The South-African supermodel also said she burns calories too quickly—we wish we had that problem!—and that is why she doesn’t do much cardio. Um, is this woman human? Instead she focuses on resistance training, which we will discover more about below.

Candice Swanepoel Workout: Yoga, Pilates, and Boxing

If anyone can provide top yoga workout tips, it’s Swanepoel. She is a huge fan of what’s known as aerial yoga. This kind of yoga fuses dance, gymnastics, and Pilates with flying silk and gets participants performing poses in the air! So cool. It’s also known as anti-gravity yoga, and it’s said to facilitate better flexibility during exercise. It can also make muscles and joints stronger, decompress the spine, and boost circulation and digestion. In addition to aerial yoga, Swanepoel also enjoys ballet and regular yoga.

Workout and Diet Tips to Look Like Candice Swanepoel

If you are interested in looking like a Victoria’s Secret Angel, you’re reading the right article because below we have tips for you on what kind of diet to follow to look good in a pair of star-studded wings. You may just go out and buy some wings from the costume shop just to prove you can do it—to prove you could strut your stuff on a runway if you wanted. Yep! Here are the tips:

  • Eat clean, sleep plenty, drinks lots of water, and take a break when you need to.
  • Stick with healthy foods for breakfast like Greek yogurt with muesli, honey, and blueberries; a protein shake with a banana and hemp seeds; or an egg-white scramble with peppers, mushrooms, and avocado.
  • For lunch, try something like a kale salad with shrimp or lentils, avocado, raspberries, chickpeas, and olive oil; a stir-fry with quinoa and mixed veggies; or brown-rice pasta with turkey sausage, broccoli, and marinara sauce.
  • Consume enough protein for your body weight. Protein helps to repair and strengthen your muscles after working out and provides lots of important vitamins and minerals like zinc.
  • Try something like the paleo diet, where you don’t cut out carbs completely but mostly consume protein and vegetables. It’s not recommended to completely cut out carbs because we need them to fuel our bodies and brains.
  • For dinner, try something like grilled salmon, wild rice, and avocado with a side of sweet potato; stuffed peppers with your choice of veggies and lean meat; or homemade fish tacos with mango salsa and corn tortillas.
  • Also remember to exercise. The most popular Angel exercise plan? A combination of boxing, yoga, Pilates, and barre (ballet).

So, Victoria’s Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel’s pregnancy diet is not really a secret after all. It is a combination of clean eating with whole, organic foods and light Pilates and yoga workouts (mostly before the pregnancy). Aerial yoga and ballet workouts are also great ways for anyone to stay fit, not just a supermodel. So go out and try some of these tips for yourself and see how you feel!
