Academy Award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow didn’t always prize healthy living and eating right. All that changed when her dad was diagnosed with cancer. And when Gwyneth came down with some serious health symptoms herself (she was often fatigued, tired, and feeling faint), she discovered she wasn’t too healthy, either: she had a serious vitamin D deficiency, anemia, and a benign tumor. Deciding that it was time to make healthy living a priority, Gwyneth started to change her life; she cut out many foods from her diet—including coffee, alcohol, dairy, sugar, wheat, soy, and all processed foods—and started looking for ways she could encourage others to start their own healthy living journey. Just two months ago, the actress released her own healthy recipe book, called It’s All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great, which is already a best-seller. After all, eating right and healthy living doesn’t have to be boring. Here’s what her celebrity diet looks like:
• Gwyneth’s celebrity diet might shock you: she is very strict with her elimination diet. She has made sure her family follows the same diet, because she believes it really does make you healthier and feel better, too. That means no processed foods, junk foods, dairy, shellfish, soy, or sugar for her or her family.
• This celebrity diet also features a lot of alternative remedies: Gwyneth is known for strongly believing in alternative medicine; instead of popping pills to get rid of every new symptom, she turns to eating right and healthy living first. She starts her day off with four to 12 drops of grapefruit seed extract, mixed with warm water. She says this healthy living cleanse helps clear her body from unwanted toxins and makes digestion easier.
• When Gwyneth is too stressed to sleep, she uses another key component in her celebrity diet; natural remedies like magnesium, instead of sleeping pills, help her relax and calm her nervous system.
• Another one of Gwyneth’s alternative remedies comes in handy when her kids are sick. Instead of flu medication, she uses oregano oil, which has antifungal and antibacterial effects to fight infections.
While Gwyneth Paltrow’s celebrity diet may seem difficult for some, she says it’s making her feel better and healthier than ever before. Would you try this celebrity diet? Or do you believe you can make eating right and healthy living a priority without going to this extreme?
