Jennifer Aniston is returning to the silver screen this Christmas season, starring in the hilarious new comedy Office Christmas Party. Aniston is looking amazing at 47, and while her new character certainly is, is her diet strict, too?
Jennifer Aniston’s Diet
Aniston has what should really be considered a model diet, according to her April 2016 interview with Elle magazine. The actress eats a remarkably balanced and healthy diet every day, staying mostly sugar-free and building her meals around protein and vegetables.
She starts her day with a glass of warm lemon water rather than coffee. This aids in digestion without all of the added caffeine. Breakfast is either a healthy, protein-filled shake, avocado and eggs drizzled with coconut oil, puffed millet cereal with a banana, or oatmeal with an egg white whipped in, ensuring her diet has protein. Celebrity nutritionist Lisa DeFazio shared her thoughts on Aniston’s diet with Brit + Co and considered each of the aforementioned meals to be good choices to start your day, though she recommended adding in some form of carbs in the dishes lacking. For example, having a piece of multigrain toast with the eggs and avocado will help you feel fuller longer.
Lunch and dinner are by Aniston’s own admission, quite basic. The actress prefers her meals to be full of vegetables, with some form of protein like chicken or beans. This often equates to one of her go-to meals, a salad. Aniston’s love of salads is no secret either, as she and her former Friends co-stars Courtney Cox and Lisa Kudrow, would eat the same salad every day for lunch. Lovingly called the Jennifer salad, it was similar to a Cobb salad, but made with turkey bacon rather than pork and with added garbanzo beans. There’s no doubt that the dish was delicious, as all three ladies ate it every day for the 10 years they worked together and never tired of it.
Aniston also posted on Living Proof’s Instagram account in 2015 when she was an ambassador, sharing a photo of her “perfect salad.”
This salad features cucumber, parsley, mint, and feta cheese among other ingredients in what sounds like a deliciously fresh meal.
DeFazio also weighed in on Aniston’s go-to meal of salads, touting the importance of what she calls the key three: carbs, proteins, and healthy fats. Adding carbs to these dishes can be as easy as tossing in some quinoa or having a slice of pita bread on the side.
Between meals, Aniston snacks on the fiber and protein-rich combination of apple slices and almond butter to keep her feeling full and satisfied.
Is Jennifer Aniston adhering to a strict diet plan this holiday season? It doesn’t seem so; rather, the actress has been enjoying a healthy and balanced lifestyle that will surely continue on through Christmas.
