Christopher Nolan may have found his new “James Bond” in Tom Hardy. Rumors are swirling about Tom Hardy playing the new 007 agent after Danial Craig publicly announced his disinterest in reprising the iconic role.

Tom Hardy and Christopher Nolan have worked together before and share a good actor-director rapport. Nolan has cast Hardy in The Dark Knight Rises and Inception. Although neither the actor nor the director has confirmed anything yet, but they haven’t dismissed it either.

In an interview with the Daily Beast, Tom Hardy fueled the rumors by keeping mum on the matter. However, he expressed his interest in being the new face of James Bond, and stated that it would be amazing experience.

The bad ass character “Bane,” who was also hopelessly in love, was a character that had a greater impact on the audience than Batman himself. With minimum screen presence, Hardy made Bane hard-hitting and memorable.

The actor gained almost 20 kilograms and underwent a rigorous training called “signaling” to build a bulky and muscular body for the character Bane.

So, now that we know how Tom Hardy prepared for the character of Bane, how will the Mad Max actor prepare to look as dashing and incisive as James Bond? Will he use his usual workout techniques this role too?

Tom Hardy’s Usual Workout Routine and Diet plan

The 39-year-old Tom Hardy has always been a popular choice to play an action hero, a fighter. His good looks and stunning physique have garnered worldwide admiration.

So, how does the Sucker Punch actor maintain his fitness and ripped body? Keep reading to know more.

Tom Hardy’s Workout:

Tom Hardy has an intense workout routine. Hardy’s workout cycle includes exercises like press-ups (chest/biceps)- hands below shoulder, forefingers and thumb forming a diamond, hands wider than shoulder width and resting on clenched fists, shoulder flies and dips. Do 1 sets of each of these exercises of 10 reps

In addition to the upper body workout, the English actor works on his abdominal muscles too. The abs workout routine is divided into four stages.

Stage 1: Start this workout by lying horizontally on the back, keep the legs together. Put the hands lightly behind your head and from this position, lift your heads and shoulders and hold.

Then slowly tighten the abs and lift the legs too. Gently lower the legs to the start position. Do 4 sets of 10, 7, 5, 3 reps.

Stage 2: Now repeat the same starting position and movement of stage 1, but this time, instead of lifting the legs, bend the knees, and raise to touch the elbows. Slowly straighten the legs and return to the resting position.
Do 4 sets of 10, 7, 5, 3 reps.

Stage 3: Continue with the same exercise movements from stage one. Again, this time raise your knees to touch your elbows but, do not bend the legs. Go back to the starting position slowly.
Do 4 sets of 10, 7, 5, 3 reps.

Stage 4: Do the same exercise motion as stage one, only this time with an 8 kg kettle bell hanging from the left toe.
Do 4 sets of 10, 7, 5, 3 reps.

Tom Hardy’s Diet:

To maintain his chiseled body, Tom Hardy has a daily diet of five to six meals. All these meals include lots of lean protein (chicken and fish), vegetables and sometimes rice for carbohydrates. Since his daily diet is divided into small meals, his body burns the accumulated fats quickly, thus boosting his metabolism.

Tom Hardy also drinks a lot of milk and protein shakes to build the bulky look. Occasionally, the  actor enjoys ice cream, which isn’t a part of his strict diet.
