Instagram. Beaches. Emergency room. Yolanda Hadid. Lyme disease. More Instagram. That’s how quickly the tide turned during a recent Tahiti vacation for ex-Housewives’ star Yolanda Hadid.

One minute she was loving life at the beach, and the next she was in the hospital hooked up to an IV to treat Lyme disease, a chronic condition caused by a bacterial infection. Although flare-ups can be difficult to prevent, Yolanda Hadid’s anti-inflammatory diet helps keep her immune system strong to fight.

After being diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012, Hadid—a former model and reality TV-star—has had to make some lifestyle adjustments. For Yolanda Foster (Hadid) diet and exercise has always been important and she’s always eaten relatively healthy.

But in a further effort to limit inflammation and boost immunity against her condition she’s been eating even more consciously. She recently took on a new method of eating where over the course of a few weeks she ate 35 different varieties of fruits and vegetables in addition to 14 different beans, nuts and seeds.

The Anti-Inflammatory Yolanda Hadid Diet

Yolanda Hadid’s anti-inflammatory diet aims to limit the impact Lyme disease will have on her body. It works to fight back against inflammation and toxins that cause cell damage and weaken the immune system, hopefully creating a stronger environment to provide resistance.

Some of the items she eats regularly include:

  • Carrots
  • Strawberries
  • Cashews
  • Almonds
  • Chia seeds
  • Raspberries
  • Green beans
  • Leafy greens
  • Lemons

This is only a small sample size, but they are all nutrient-dense items with antioxidant and energizing power than may boost immunity.

Her children Bella Hadid and Anwar Hadid also suffer from Lyme disease.

Yolanda’s anti-inflammatory diet is free of processed foods, fried foods, refined grains and other items that can lead to inflammation and put her immune system at risk. Anti-inflammatory diets are recommended for everybody as a way of boosting immunity and battling back against disease.

Yolanda’s ‘Believe Me’ Book

Hadid has been working on a book about her battle with Lyme disease and it’s set to come out in February of next year. In it, she will document the struggles she’s experienced since being diagnosed with Lyme disease, and likely what kind of things she’s been doing to try and combat it.

I don’t know exactly why she’s under the impression potential readers think she is lying, but I’m willing to believe the struggle is real. She’s already revealed that her battle with the disease has had profound effects on her life, even limiting her ability to read and write.
