If you’re not familiar, Kohler is a household name when it comes to kitchens, bathrooms, interiors, and golf and resort destinations. The company took off 130 years ago when founder John Michael Kohler created a bathtub out of a cast-iron water trough, which sold for “one cow and 14 chickens.”

Kohler Food and Wine: October 20–23, 2016 Schedule

What can you expect to see during the Kohler Food and Wine Festival this year?

October 20, 2016: Beginning at 6:30 p.m. the Prevea Kohler’s Chefs’ Tailgate Challenge will begin. The Green Bay Packers will take on the Chicago Bears, and visitors will be able to sample foods and beverages created by the Destination Kohler culinary team. Voting will take place for your favorite dish and the cash votes will be donated to benefit Nourish.

October 21, 2016: On Friday there is a full-day line-up of events, including:

  • “Cicchetti” Famous Small Plates of Venice;
  • Elevating Pasta with Pickling and Fermenting;
  • Bubbly’s Best Friend—Chocolate;
  • Wisconsin Cheese & Wine Pairing;
  • Hendrick’s: Convivial Cocktail Academy;
  • Pinot Noirs of the Great Growing Regions in the World;
  • A Tour of Burgundy with Louis Jadot;
  • A Taste of Rutherford, Back to Basics (which will teach you how to make risotto);
  • Guittard Chocolate Presents: The Chouquette—The Classic French Dessert; and
  • It’s All about Malbec.

And there’s a lot more where that came from. You’ll not only learn about food and wine, but you will also be able to sample dishes and beverages that will really entice your palate.

October 22, 2016: Saturday is another full day containing kid-friendly events. You can learn to make recipes that are kid-approved or the secret to brewing coffee at home, plus take a tour of the fine wine regions of Italy, and check out classes in baking and champagne, plus other inspirational classes. It’ll help you answer the ever-present question of “What’s for dinner?”

October 23, 2016: Sunday is the last day of the festival, and the schedule isn’t as crazy. You have two options between the Jones Dairy champagne brunch and the Save the Best Taste for Last, where regional chefs prepare locally inspired dishes for you to enjoy.

Many of these events are ticketed and so it’s important you get your tickets as early as you can. Not only will you walk away with learning more about food, wine, and cooking in general, but you also have a great opportunity to meet some celebrity chefs. Based on the Kohler Food and Wine Festival 2016 schedule, the event is looking to be one that the whole family can enjoy!
