When Fuller House premiered, Candace Cameron Bure looked as she did in 1993. The actress, who plays D.J. Tanner on the show, proves that eating right and following a good workout plan can keep aging at bay, making 20 years look like 20 minutes.

Candace Cameron Bure Shares Workout Snaps on Instagram

Bure shared a taste of her workouts with trainer Kira Stokes on Instagram, showing how she stays trim and strong to keep looking young. The picture shows them both performing a pike-up on with a bosu ball, actively engaging their abs, shoulders and arms, while providing a healthy stretch, too. It’s these kinds of compound movements that help Bure maintain lean mass that allows her to burn calories quickly and keep the fat off.

When you put as much effort into exercise and diet as she does—three days in the gym doing weights and cardio, one day of Pilates, and one day of yoga plus an active lifestyle—it even allows room for sweet indulgences such as chocolate and ice cream. But don’t be mistaken: to stay in shape, Bure and Stokes make sure she eats healthy most of the time.

Candace Cameron Bure’s Diet and Workout Plan

Plenty of time passed between the last episode of Full House and the first episode of Fuller House—over 20 years, in fact. A lot happened in that period for Bure: she gave birth to three babies and battled a stint with bulimia, but you’d never know it because of how lean and toned she is now.

One of the keys to her slender physique is her diet. She’s a big fan of nutrient-dense vegetables and she eats multiple servings of them per day. Veggies such as broccoli, zucchini, squash, lettuce, and others are staples in her diet, which provide her body with plenty of nutrition and not a lot of excess calories. But almost as important as what she eats is how she eats.

Instead of eating to the point of fullness, she eats until she’s satisfied—meaning she has patience. It takes about 20 minutes for your brain to get the signal from your stomach that it’s had enough, which is likely why so many Americans overeat. When you slow down and allow some time to pass, it’s much easier to hold off on eating too much.

Workouts with Stokes involve weight training, but only three times per week for 20 minutes. For the other 30 minutes Bure spends in the gym, she’s doing some form of cardio such as using an elliptical, a stationary bike, or a treadmill. When she’s not doing weight training, she’ll prioritize stretching and body-weight exercises such as yoga or Pilates.

Fuller House star Candace Cameron Bure seems to have frozen time with her anti-aging diet and workout regimen. You might not have a trainer like Kira Stokes, but you can apply the same principles!
