It’s New Year’s Eve and you’ve forgotten to pick up something important for your annual bash, or maybe you’re starting a new tradition of dining out for the holiday.
Whatever your reasons, it’s always good to have a list handy of the stores and restaurants that are open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day so you know just where to go when you run out of milk or have a hankering for a good meal you didn’t have to cook.
Lucky for you, we’ve compiled a list of popular stores and restaurants that will remain open this holiday weekend.
Stores Open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
While the majority of stores are open today, their hours may differ drastically over the holidays. Here are a few retailers that will be open this weekend:
Barnes & Noble – Need to pick up a last minute hostess gift before attending a party or brunch? Barnes & Noble has a variety of options to suit your needs. From stationary and art supplies to cute crafts and collectibles (and of course, books!), find the perfect way to show your appreciation at one of their many locations across the country. The majority of locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on New Year’s Day.
Publix – The popular grocery chain will keep most locations open until 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and 7 p.m. on New Year’s Day so you can pick up some extra hors d’oeuvres or stock up on the essentials like milk and bread.
Walgreen’s – Most of the pharmacy locations will remain open for their usual hours on both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, meaning you can pick up those first aid essentials that come into play when champagne corks go flying.
Walmart – Walmart’s hours will remain normal over the New Year’s weekend, so there’s no need to worry about rushing to the superstore before it closes.
Restaurants Open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
Treat yourself to a delicious meal that you didn’t have to prepare or nurse a hangover with classic brunch foods this holiday at any of the following eateries.
Chart House – Enjoy a steak and seafood dinner on New Year’s Eve with friends and family and be home in time to watch the ball drop from the comfort of your couch. Chart House will be open for dinner between 4:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and maintain its regular hours on New Years Day.
Denny’s – Craving a Grand Slam after celebrating all night? Denny’s is open! All locations of the chain will be open 24 hours as is their norm. Hooray!
IHOP – IHOP’s hours will not change over the holiday, and the chain will also maintain its 24-hour service so you can get the perfect stack of pancakes no matter what time it is.
Starbucks – Over the weekend, hours will not be the same as Starbucks’ hours today. Starbuck’s New Year’s Eve hours and New Year’s Day hours will be 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., so you can still get your caffeine fix.
