Zac Efron is starring in the upcoming movie remake of the classic television show Baywatch, and to prepare for the role, Efron worked out like crazy to perfect his beach body. But with this body transformation came intense food cravings, far more intense than ever before.
While filming, Efron stuck to a strict diet but the moment filming was done he had no problems ordering literally the entire service menu at his hotel. For at least a month, he didn’t touch a single carb so the actor couldn’t wait to indulge once filming wrapped up.
Efron’s diet consisted of all-organic whole foods along with a pretty intense workout program. He also supplemented with unflavored protein and aimed for 100 ounces of water a day. Needless to say, Efron really put in the extra work to obtain his figure.
Workout and Diet Tips by Zac Efron
Zac Efron had personal trainer Patrick Murphy help him develop the chiseled body we’ll see in the new Baywatch film. The main element of Efron’s workout routines consisted of supersetting, which means performing two exercises back-to-back with no rest in between. This is an effective workout because it burns more calories than only performing a single exercise, doubles as cardio, and drives more nutrition-filled blood into the muscles for quicker growth. Plus it saves time.
Along with supersets, Murphy also made Efron perform exercises that built speed and agility to allow him to perform like a lifeguard, which he plays in the movie.
As for diet, Murphy created a specialized plan for Efron which restricted his calories but also had a mix of protein, carbohydrates, and fat. But Murphy isn’t releasing the specifics of the exact formula which made Efron look so good.
Zac Efron worked immensely hard for his Baywatch role, and in little as 12 weeks he came out looking like a Greek god. But you’re going to have to wait until next May when the movie is released to admire the results on the big screen.
