Actress Julia Roberts took to her Instagram to show off how she is learning about vegan food and gluten-free recipes. The 48-year old actress recommends a healthy balance of fitness and diet, as that is what it takes to look and feel your best. Roberts herself does not follow a strict diet or exercise plan as she suggests it would just drive her crazy. Instead, she aims to live as balanced of a life as possible—all good things in moderation.
In an interview with InStyle magazine, the actress said, “I feel like if I knew all the things to do (in terms of exercise), I would probably look like I was put together with tape.”
When it comes to feeding her family, Roberts also uses the same mentality. She expressed that her and her family try to eat mindfully, and she passes on the message to her kids to eat the good stuff in order to get the good stuff.
Even at 48, Roberts is still landing high-end roles and jobs including the 2015 spring/summer campaign for designer Givenchy. It goes to show that treating your body right will take you far in the long-run.
Julia Roberts Workout Plan
Roberts hits the gym about five days a week for 90 minutes. Her workouts consist of a mix of aerobics along with strength training. Celebrity trainer Kathy Kaehler has worked with Roberts for over 10 years, and puts her through total body workouts including Pilates and yoga along with arm and core-centric workouts.
The key to Roberts lean figure is to stick with five to ten pound weights. These weights allow for circuit-style training, which can help lean the body rather than put on muscle mass. Furthermore, incorporating yoga into a workout plan further helps promote strength without the bulk.
As for her diet, Roberts has her own plan that her trainer designed for her, which consists of cutting up fruits and vegetables at the start of the week so they can easily be used throughout the week. This takes the stress out of meal planning and reduces the risk of cheat meals.
Her diet consists of high-fiber and protein-filled foods such as carrots, cabbage, black beans, leafy greens, and fresh fruit.
As for movie preparation, Roberts embarks on a cleanse, which consists of meal-replacement shakes that are high in fiber and promote fullness.
If you want to look as good as Roberts, it’s all about healthy choices and moderation.
