5 Fast Food Meals That Are Actually Healthy!

Not everyone always has access to a health food store or can afford it if they do.

Let’s be 100% truthful: we’ve all, at some point, resorted to get take out food. In fact, a quarter of Americans eat fast food every single day! While you probably don’t want to count yourself amongst them, there is a way to avoid feeling guilty about those fast food meals: the good news is that dining at a fast food restaurant doesn’t have to be a black mark on your diet.

Maintaining a healthy diet doesn’t mean you have to swear off fast food altogether. Check out these five delicious and nutritious fast food meals that will help you stay on the healthy path.

5 Fast Food Meals that are Healthy

1. Domino’s Pizza: Veggie Pizza With Gluten-Free Crust

I bet you weren’t expecting pizza on the list. However, thanks to its gluten-free crust, this really is a healthy fast food option.

Topped with mushrooms, diced tomatoes, and baby spinach, this really is the best you could ask for in terms of a healthy fast food pizza from a national pizza franchise.

Nutrition (per 1/6 pizza): 133 cal, 4 g pro, 16 g carb, 2 g fiber, 6 g fat, 2 g sat fat, 327 mg sodium

2. Panera Bread: Power Chicken Hummus Bowl

This one of my favourite spots to go to when we want to grab a quick bite to eat, and this meal is definitely on the healthy side of things. With antibiotic-free chicken, hummus, a mix of veggies, and lemon juice in place of dressing, this is a delicious low-cal meal on the go.

Nutrition (per bowl): 330 cal, 33 g pro, 23 g carb, 8 g fiber, 13 g fat, 2 g sat fat, 590 mg sodium

3. Wendy’s Apple Pecan Chicken Salad, Half-size

I know Wendy’s is definitely not a venue you’d think of when it comes to healthy eating, but this salad, which comes in full or half-size options, is deliciously a healthy choice and one of my favorites.

Nutrition (half size): 340 cal, 19 g pro, 18 g fat, and 4 g fiber.

4. Spinach and Feta Wrap at Starbucks

It seems like there’s a Starbucks on every street these days, so it’s pretty difficult to avoid being pulled into one at some point. When that happens, try this wrap for a quick healthy meal.

Nutrition: 290 cal and 0 g trans fat.

5. Hearty vegetable soup at Tim Hortons

Here in Canada, we can’t do without our Tim Hortons. If you ever stop into one, order a large portion of its hearty vegetable soup and you won’t be disappointed. It’s filled with healthy veggies (so you’re getting your daily dose of antioxidants and vitamins!)

Nutrition: 110 cal and 0.5 g  fat.
